Isaac CaldwellBym welcomed the league leaders for the first local derby of the season and were rewarded for their hard work with a great 4-2 victory.

Once again BYM conceded early, a habit that needs to be resolved sooner rather than later but we responded well creating a number of opportunities before grabbing a well-deserved equaliser from the prolific Jonny Small.

Just before the half time break the Swifts went back into the lead after sloppy defending from a corner, allowing Daire Mcgratten to pick up his second of the day at the back post.

BYM came out much stronger in the 2nd half and it wasn’t long before Gareth Patterson scored from a cross come shot that sailed over the keeper into the net.

The match then became very competitive and they were a few handbags that kicked off. This seemed to spark BYM into action and we took control of the game and deservedly took the lead through Michael Lemon who slotted the ball passed the keeper after some great build up. BYM then put the game to bed late on when Gareth Patterson got his second of the day, trapping in at the back post to secure the game.

It was a good performance and great to see the fight in the players determined to win this local derby.
