The YM IIs took on a strong Rosemount side with several players missing including their goalkeeper. The management wish to pass on their appreciation to Matty Cavill for stepping up to help the team out. The YM started slow and were under constant pressure and some poor defending saw Rosemount take the lead a player unmarked getting a free header. More poor defending from the YM saw them go 2 down shortly after.
Â
The YM boys finally woke up and played some attractive football and it was Storey who grabbed one back just on the half-time whistle. After a bit of a reshuffle at half time the YM started playing more great football as they began to take grip on the game but just as things were turning round disaster struck as the visitors pacey forward broke the offside trap to finish well and make it 3-1 to Rosemount. To the YM’s credit they never gave up with Bailie scoring with a header from a corner. Chance after chance came and went for the YM to get an equaliser but Rosemount grabbed a another in the dying seconds of the game to make it a 4-2 loss.
Â
A good game overall but it wasn’t meant to be on the day. Apart from the opening 20 minutes of this one the management were generally happy with the football played and the spirit shown by the players who refused to give up.
