Junior Cup
Bloomfield Playing Fields
BYM 5 Lisnaskea 0
After last week’s disappointing performance and result in the league our attention turned to the 1st round of the Junior Cup as we welcomed Lisnaskea Rovers to Bloomfield… The BYM running out comfortable 5-0 winners on the day, a scoreline which really should have been much higher… It was the BYM who started with a point to prove, aiming to right the wrongs of last week, from the 1st whistle the boys dominated possession and created chances almost at will… A combination of good goalkeeping, the woodwork and missed opportunities kept the score down to 3-0 at half time with goals coming from Mikey Paul x1 & Jonny Hill x2…..
The 2nd half was always going to be difficult for the visitors but to their credit and in difficult circumstances, they did start to mount a little bit of pressure in a 10 mins spell, but all nerves were settled when the impressive Jordan Cole slipped a perfectly weighted pass to Glen Bailie to slot under the keeper for the 4th goal and Joe’s 2nd assist of the game… The 5th and final goal of the afternoon was soon to follow, good build up play from the BYM, allowing for Jack Upritchard to pick out Jonny Hill at the back post to complete his first hat trick of the season with the simplest of tap ins…
A comprehensive result and much-improved performance from the lads it was a well-deserved victory in the end. A first competitive win this season should provide great encouragement and confidence as we return to league action next Saturday… Uppa BYM…
