YM IIs win Local Derby.

The YM took on local rivals Bangor Rangers on Saturday. Showing up full of confidence following back to back away wins at Ford and Saintfield the boys were up for it from the off, passing their way through the Rangers midfield. Following a series of attacks the breakthrough arrived. Cole put in a brilliant cross from a corner and Big Jonny Small was there to power the header home. 1-0 up and the passing football from the YM was a joy to watch, frustrating the home side to few touches. The second arrived just before the half time whistle with that man again Jonny Small grabbing his and the YM’s second following great work from Stewart.

10 minutes into the second half the YM hot the old self-destruct button when McAllister saw red and was rightly sent off. Rangers pumped long ball after long ball at the 10 men but the back four held firm and the midfield continued to pass the ball around well despite the numerical disadvantage. In fact, the lead could easily have been extended with the YM twice hitting the frame but the final result was 2-0. Tough one to pick but the Trading Post MOTM selection went to Beefy with an outstanding all-round performance. Well done boys, let’s push this form into the next game and see how we go.
