On Sunday 26th November the club were proud to honourĀ Alan Finlay for his long service to the club, both as a player and a manager. Anyone who has managed a team at any level appreciates the amount of work that goes into the role and for Alan to complete 10 seasons in the position was a fantastic achievement.
It was great to see so many old faces coming down to support their old manager and friend. There are still miles in the clock for a few of them but unfortunately, none could be talked out of retirement.
The match itself was very entertaining with Roy and StrongyĀ rollingĀ back the years in the first half and give Finns team a commanding lead at halftime. The second half was little more even as the other teamĀ threw everyone on to the pitch and paid the referee to try and get back into the game. Unfortunately for them, RickyĀ LarmourĀ was reliving his youth, making a number of qualityĀ saves and Finns team ran out 5-3 winners in the end.
It was a very enjoyable day, both during the match and catching up back at the CD Club over a few beers. Many thanks to Danny Frazer for organising the event and to everyone who came to play and support.
