North Down 2 – 2 BYM 3rds

Scorers – Jonny Small, Sam Thompson
MOM – Sam Thompson

Sam ThompsonBYM travelled to Ards to face North Down after the disappointment of the opening day defeat by Castlereagh 82.

The first half a hard-fought display but BYM were not getting the ball down enough to be able to control the game and conceded a sloppy goal just before the break after missing a few chances themselves. ND went into the break deserving the lead.

Although ND went 2 up early in the second half the game changed. BYM got the ball down on the floor and started to put a lot of pressure on the ball, this resulted in Jonny Small putting one back with a well-taken finish after a superb ball from Josh Moffet.

BYM continued to add pressure and it paid off when Sam Thompson scored a cracker from long range to level the game up. Bym tried their best to secure the win, with Jonny Small forcing the keeper into a great save and Josh Moffet having one cleared off the line.

All round an entertaining game and BYM showing a good fighting spirit is encouraging for the future.
