Now that the snow has finally disappeared and we might actually be able to play a bit of golf I thought I'd send you an update to advise of Teddys next outing.
I've booked Clandeboye (Dufferin Course) for 30/01/2011. Cost will be £30 for golf, meal and prizes. All details are on the society website. Please sign up via the website as usual if you would like to play. I've booked for 24 players so first come first served!!
I've also booked outings for February 2011 (Rockmount, Carryduff) and for March 2011 (Gracehill, Ballymoney- recently voted in Northern Irelands top 10 courses) I'll update the website in due course. We'll be making our own way to Rockmount and cost will be £30 for golf, meal and prizes.
Gracehill will be the Society's first bus trip and so it would be great to have good support for that.
Gracehill will be on Sunday 13/03/2011 leaving Bangor at approx 09:00 and returning from Ballymoney at approx 18:30. Cost will be approx £35 to include bus, golf, meal and prizes. I'm aware that this is a couple of months away however I would really appreciate if you could reply to me at your earliest convenience and give an indication of whether or not you would like to go as I'll need to book a big enough bus for us all ASAP!!!!
I'll collect £10 deposit per person prior to this trip to secure your place on the bus.
That’s all for now and I look forward to seeing you at Clandeboye on the 30th where Gareth will be the proud wearer of the coveted 'Pink Visor' for the entire day!
25 members turned out for what was to be a lovely day at Royal Belfast; lovely in terms of the weather if not the golf !!
The day turned out to be warm(ish) and dry and it was great to see good numbers on the day. Hopefully we can continue like this at future outings.
1st - Alan Thompson - 43pts; 2nd - Chris Reilly - 38pts; 3rd - Keith Freel - 35pts
Closest the pin - Stephen Loftus; Longest Drive - Colin Davidson; Best front 9 - Mark Hutchinson; Best back 9 - Colin Davidson
Some excellent scoring from Alan Thompson with 43pts, who's handicap will now be cut to shreds for the next outing at Clandeboye and also from the mad monk with 38pts. I would like to see their scores if they played more than the one time a year they say they do ! Also a mention for a monster of a longest drive from Colin Davidson, who explained the secret of his shot......'its because I joined the gym!!!!' (and he was being serious when he told me that!!!!)
All in all an excellent days golf and craic and I look forward to seeing you all at Clandeboye on 28/11/2010.
Thanks to everybody who was able to play at Blackwood on our first outing. The day went well (even though some of the golf didn't) and the results were as follows:
Remember you can access the following link to view Teddy's Golf Society updates, membership info, handicaps etc. It is my intention to update this throughout the year.
Anyone interested in becoming part of a new Golf Society should speak to Gareth in Teddys Bar where all you need to leave are your contact details.

End of Season Outing
Boys/Girls
We had our last outing of the year at Blackwood on Sunday 20/11/2011 and the event was won by the big girl in the small pink hat !!!! (See below). The website has been updated with the results from Sunday and also shows members revised handicaps at the year end. That was our last outing until February 2012.
Memberships will be up for renewal in the new year for season 2012 so if you know of anybody who may be interested please let them know. The likely cost of membership will again be £20 for the year but I'll contact you all with details nearer the time.
In the meantime if anybody knows of any deals or can recommend courses to play please contact me.
As you all know we are having our Christmas do in Teddys on 10/12/2011 and the list of names below have said that they are going. I would ask you to leave your £20 into Gareth ASAP to secure your spot. For anybody else wanting to go, the cost is £20 to include Crimbo dinner and numerous pints !!!!!!! Please let me know if you intend going. Other than that I'd like to thank you all for attending the outings and making Teddys GS successful in its first year. I'd also like to thank Gareth and Teddys for their hospitality and sponsorship throughout the year and I'd just like to apologise in advance for the actions of Chris Reilly on the night of the do!!!!!
As Chris says re: the Christmas Do ' last one in casualty is a homo !!!!!!!'
I look forward to seeing you at the do and hope to see you all again in February 2012 for our first outing of the year.
Regards
Simon
